Fiji Welcomes the Scientology Volunteer Ministers South Pacific Goodwill Tour

A Scientology Volunteer Minister helps two nurses learn how to deliver a Scientology Assist.

The Scientology Volunteer Ministers South Pacific Goodwill Tour was warmly welcomed in Suva, Fiji, the capital of Fiji by traditional dancers and with more than 200 dignitaries including the Deputy Mayor, the Deputy Director for Immigration, the Minister of Youth & Sports and the Police Commissioner.

The Deputy Mayor demonstrated his enthusiasm for the Scientology Goodwill Tour when he stated, "The Volunteer Ministers could not have come at a better time. We are focused on improving education and the Volunteer Ministers offer a study program teaching a technology of how to study. Drugs are a growing problem here and the Volunteer Ministers have answers to helping people come off drugs. This group has the message which says: No matter how big the problem may seem, something CAN be done about it."

The second speaker at the event was the Minister of Youth & Sports, he spoke of his intentions to take advantage of the Scientology Disaster Response Training and looked forward to getting the Volunteer Ministers help in tackling Fiji's social ills.

And as the celebration ended, work for the Scientology Volunteer Ministers had just begun. Their bright yellow tent, pitched in the United Nations Park, was filled to capacity throughout the day. Nurses were trained to be able to deliver Scientology Assists, hundreds of people toured through the tent and heard the lectures that were given, all based on the Scientology Handbook.

Fiji is the 2nd stop on the South Pacific Goodwill Tour, which was officially launched on the 15th of July with its Grand Opening in Auckland, New Zealand, which was attended by dignitaries from the Maori and South Pacific Communities.

Scientology Volunteer Ministers from the South Pacific Goodwill Tour were welcomed to Fiji by traditional dancers and more than 200 dignitaries.

Assists are techniques developed by L. Ron Hubbard. They operate on the principle that one tends to withdraw mentally or spiritually from an injured area. Only by restoring communication with this area can one bring the spiritual element into healing, thereby greatly speeding the healing process. Assists are used to alleviate stress and physical aches and pains, or to orient a confused or distraught individual to his present environment.
